Originally from East Africa but then spread to different parts of the world, castor oil is a self-seeding herbaceous plant.

It is a beautiful, fast-growing, erect shrub with large palmate and serrated leaves that take on a reddish color towards autumn and then fall off in the cold months.

Castor oil, planted in the garden, appears to act as an effective mole repellent.

This variety is characterized by the intense reddish color of the foliage.

  • Useful advice on Castor? With the arrival of the first cold weather, let the plant dry out without pruning or removing parts of the vegetation! This will allow your plant to self-sow.
