Borage is a plant that is easy to grow, prefers sunny exposures and adapts to any type of soil.

The blue, star-shaped flowers appear between May and September.

Flowers and leaves are widely used in many traditional regional recipes and lend themselves to making delicious fillings, omelettes and typical desserts. In folk medicine it is known as a diuretic and emollient and as a cough remedy.

It is a honey-bearing species as the flowers, with a high quantity of nectar, are highly visited by bees.
