Salvia sclarea is characterized by its large, furry and crinkled leaves, and a long lasting lilac colored bloom.

Clary Sage leaves are great fresh plucked and fried. They can also be used, both fresh and dried, to give aroma to meat dishes.

The spectacular lilac bloom is visited by bees and pollinating insects. An excellent essential oil is also obtained from the inflorescences of Clary Sage.
