Glossy succulent leaves native to South Africa, Aptenia cordifolia is a perennial creeping plant. Variegated baby sun rose present green and cream variegated leaves.

Its shiny, bright flowers attract butterflies, bees and other insects. It is a drought-resistant plant, tolerates high rainfall and irregular watering.

Leaves and flowers of this species are edible and are highly appreciated in French gastronomy.

The leaves, in particular, are characterized by their juicy consistency and slightly sour taste, making them excellent as a fresh addition to salads. In this variety they are two-tone.
