Native to the Mediterranean, Glycyrrhiza glabra is a perennial herbaceous plant. The common name licorice refers to the vegetable extract obtained by boiling the plant's root.

Widely known in the Asian continent already 5000 years ago, the plant was used for curative purposes against cough and liver problems.

Some properties of Liquorce: digestive, detoxifying, diuretic and purifying. The root is used in many herbal preparations.

The plant can reach one meter in height.
