Originally from North America, Monarda citriodora is a perennial herb used both as an ornamental garden plant and as a culinary plant.

Lemon grass has a delicate lemon aroma and can be used fresh or dried to flavor dishes based on vegetables, fish, salads, fruit salads or used as herbal tea.

It is a hardy and cold-resistant species. The inflorescences are characterized by the bright purple color.

Even today, excellent infusions are prepared with the leaves of Monarda didyma and the spectacular red flowers that the plant gives in summer are edible. Ideal to be eaten in salads or as a decoration on desserts.
